The Highland trio of Van Zandt, Thomas and Lewis are poised to pick up their third SEYL crown in as many years. This third one has been their easiest too.In previous years: Bakersfield, East or Foothill have at least challenged them a bit but this year they have beating teams most of the time with a 15. Which means their top five are beating the other school's top runner.
In a few weeks, they should easily take the team title at the SEYL league meet. The drama will be in who wins the individual title and this may well be a race between Lewis and Van Zandt (photo).
Liberty boys finished the season with a 3 - 3 record.

JV Highland 15, Liberty 50
On the girl's side there some unexpected results. First Barton of Liberty lost to Rodriguez of Highland and Liberty won the team race with a close 27 to 29. This gave Liberty a 4 - 2 record which ties them with Foothill for second. Highland ended the season with a 2 - 4 record.
