Kern Economic Development Foundation’s Inaugural
“Kern County: Fit for Business”


KEDF helps Kern County businesses and communities reach their full economic potential through educational programs and vital research.

$30 fee includes t-shirt, race, continental breakfast and vendor expo with some of your favorite local businesses!

Registration:  6:30 - 7:30 a.m.
Race Times:  8:00 a.m.

Help create jobs in Kern County by sponsoring the
Inaugural FIT FOR BUSINESS! Race Weekend
May 13 and 14, 2011

 
Kern EDC’s sister organization, the Kern Economic Development Foundation (KEDF, a 501c3), is holding the 5k and 10k run/walk to raise money for job-creating research and education. 
 
Race Weekend consists of the following activities:
 
Friday, May 13
  • Guests will enjoy dinner with featured speaker Dane Rauschenberg, the extreme athlete who ran 52 marathons in 52 successive weeks
  • Author of the book See Dane Run: One Man, 52 Weekends, 52 Marathons  
  • Dane is a sought-after motivational speaker for race-related events and also for corporate and business events
  • Dane will be available to autograph books at the dinner
  • Bag pick-up for following-day racers will be available before the dinner
 
Saturday, May 14
  • Races begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Park at Riverwalk
  • Post-run continental breakfast and expo (sponsors are invited to have a booth at race expo)
  • Awards presentation for top-placing runners
  • Raffle drawing for a “Runaway to Getaway” vacation
  • Kern County businesses with the most employees running in the event will be recognized as winners of the Corporate Challenge
