Jackson shook off her disappoint in not making state in the shorter hurdle race and won the 300 hurdles. McDonald of Bakersfield finished in the dreaded fourth place finish and will not be move on to state in the hurdles. But she will get to compete at state in the 4 x 400,

Down Goes The Favorite

At area, the favorite in the boys 110 hurdles clipped a middle hurdle and did not advance to valley. At valley, Jackson (Frontier Jr) clipped a middle hurdle it completely threw her off and taking 9th after being the valley leader all season long. Bakersfield's McDonald was the top Kern finisher in 5th place and was followed by Frontier freshman Ellis.

Taylor Jackson has been the valley leader all season and should be returning to state in both hurdle events. McDonald (Bakersfield) is better in the 300 hurdles but has improved a lot in this event too.

She took both firsts and McDonald took the seconds. Both meet up in the 4 x 400, where McDonald's squad took the win.

Taylor is the fastest in the valley in both hurdling events and should return to the state meet in both. McDonald has a shot at state in the 300 hurdles and the 4 x 400.
