8 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010 - Yokuts Park

Race Recap: David Bacus won in 16:26 and was followed by former Driller and current Holy Names harrier Zack Holt who ran 17:02. He was followed by CSUB's Eddy Lee in a time of 17:33.

Behind these youngsters were a couple of 50 year olds. Carl Hatley ran 19:17 and about a minute behind him was Cregg Weinman in 20:13. In 6th overall was the 30 to 40 year old age group winner Jonathan Wykoff in a time of 20:44.

The first woman was 12 year old Maggie Baker who ran 21:57 for 8th overall in a field of over 200. Maggie is Sally Baker's youngest and the sister of Sarah Baker who is a three time league champ in SEYL cross country. Maggie was almost 2 minutes ahead of the next women, Suzan Sindler who won the 41 - 55 age group in a time of 23:50.

Advance Beverage Co. presents H.A.L.T. Rescue's First Annual Helping Animals Live Tomorrow 5K Fun Run/Walk. The race will take place at Yokuts Park in Bakersfield, California. Race packet pick up and late registration is from 6-7:30 am and the race begins at 8:00am. This is a dog-friendly race, so bring your furry, four legged friend. There will be plenty of water to keep you and your dog hydrated. After the race, lunch will be served. Also, results and awards will be announced for top three finishers in each age category for male and female. To close off the event, there will be a raffle with great prizes. Bring a bag of dog food and get a free ticket for the raffle drawing! All participants receive a t-shirt, goody bag and lunch. Deadline for online registration is May 20! Race day registration is $25 (Race day registers are not guaranteed a tshirt or goodie bag)
