The Road to State
Now that you survived the South Area meet and made the top four in your event or grabbed one of the wild card spots (top three marks at the all area meets combined make it) you are now one step closer to the state meet.
Both the valley and state meet are at Buchanan High school which is good for us valley residents. It is nearby and most local athletes have competed there in the past. Plus they have excellent facilities and know hope to put on a great meet. I look forward to the Buchanan Distance Classic and the West Coast Relays every year.
At the valley meet, the top six places in each will be awarded medals and also score points for their team. First and second place team trophies will also be awarded.
The top three in each event, will qualify for the state meet from the central section:

Sections are allowed the following entries as per State Federated Council rule:
CIF Southern 5 CIF Central 3 CIF Northern 1
CIF North Coast 4 CIF Central Coast 3 CIF San Francisco 1
CIF Los Angeles 3 CIF San Diego 3 CIF Oakland 1
CIF Sac-Joaquin 3
AT-LARGE ENTRIES
Sections may enter additional competitors provided they have met or bettered the At-Large
standard for their event in their Section Meet that qualifies athletes for the CIF State Track and Field Championships. The At-Large standards can be found on page six HERE.
