The weather was perfect for racing overcast and cool. The rain earlier in the week kept the dust down. This year the race was chip timed for the first time.
There was a sensor at the finish and also one on the course. The one on the course was at the mile mark which is also the 2.1 mile. So with this information, one can get splits for the runners.

State Meet Preview:
Updated on 11.19.09
When Thanksgiving comes around each year, most Kern County harriers can eat to their heart's content. But a few talented and hard working athletes must watch what they eat because in two days they will be running in the race of their lives.
The reason is the state meet is always held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving day at Woodward Park in Fresno.
For those who qualify, I am sure they are willing to make one more sacrifice.
